A new static caravan typically starts from around £40,000–£70,000; lodges commonly start around £80,000 and go well beyond £150,000. Pitch fees for lodges are usually higher too, because they occupy larger pitches.
Heating, insurance and maintenance also tend to cost more on a lodge simply because there is more of the home to look after.
Season length and lifestyle
Lodge parks often operate a longer season — in some cases 12 months — which matters if you plan to use the home in winter or for longer stays. Static caravan parks more commonly close over the winter months.
