Should I buy a new or used static caravan?
For most first-time owners, a good used caravan aged 3–8 years offers the best value. Buy new only when you want a specific spec, the full warranty and don’t mind the depreciation hit.
The age-limit problem
Many parks set minimum age rules on static caravans — typically 15–25 years from manufacture before the home must be removed or replaced. Older used homes may have very few usable years left at a given park.
Always check the park’s age limits BEFORE you fall for a cheap older caravan.
